Ford and Lincoln Trucks Recalled for Body Control Module Fire Risk

The defect stems from a Body Control Module (BCM) that may have an internal short. This issue was not fully identified during previous inspections because a custom software routine used to read the BCM serial number failed to read the correct characters, potentially leaving affected modules unreplaced. If an electrical short develops, the module may overheat, which could result in a vehicle fire.
