Great Dane Limited Partnership is recalling certain 2007 through 2009 semi-trailer vans equipped with ArvinMeritor TL axles. These specific axles were shipped between April 2005 and July 2008. The recall addresses a defect where the spindle nut may not have been properly torqued or may not have been torqued at all.
This defect allows for excessive end-play in the wheel-end system, which could progress to a wheel separating from the vehicle. If a wheel separates, the driver's ability to control the vehicle is reduced, which could result in a vehicle crash.
