Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Plain-English summary
BMW of North America, LLC is recalling certain 2005 through 2009 R 1200 RT police motorcycles manufactured from April 2005 through September 2009. The recall involves approximately 1,900 vehicles.
The bracket which supports the audible signaling device can break. If the bracket breaks, the signaling device may fall from the vehicle and onto the roadway. Should the signaling device fall from the motorcycle while being driven, it could become an obstacle for other drivers, which may result in a crash.
Dealers will attach two tether cables to the device to secure it to the motorcycle in the event the mounting bracket becomes loose. This service will be performed free of charge. The safety recall began on November 2, 2010. Owners may contact BMW at 1-800-525-7417 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
