Due to a manufacturing anomaly, the weld that joins the steel bar to the box end (chain binder) may be prone to fracture. If the weld fails during normal use, the box end could abruptly separate. This failure could cause the winch bar to strike the user or cause the user to lose their balance and fall, particularly if the user is positioned on top of a trailer or its cargo during use.
