The recall involves brown oak (model 5155), black oak (model 5055), and white oak (model 5251) carts sold nationwide from March 1989 through September 1998. These carts were sold as ready-to-assemble units at discount stores, home centers, and furniture stores for approximately $35 to $49.

The carts pose a hazard because they can tip over, causing the television and cart to fall and potentially injure children and adults. Sauder has received 13 reports of the carts tipping over. Two injuries have been reported: a 3-year-old girl suffered a skull fracture, and an adult woman suffered a bump to the head and a cut finger.

Consumers should immediately remove their televisions and VCRs from the affected carts. To identify if their cart is part of the recall, consumers can check the instruction booklet for the model number, as it is not printed on the cart itself.
