Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Plain-English summary
Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman are voluntarily recalling over 6,500 cotton terry cloth bathrobes for men and women made by Egeria International. The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The fabric fails to meet federal mandatory standards for flammability, which means it may ignite readily and presents a serious risk of burn injuries. Fabrics that do not comply with these standards typically burn faster than newspaper.
The bathrobes were sold nationwide at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman stores from December 1988 through February 1997 for approximately $220 to $330. The robes are 100% cotton terry cloth and come in kimono and shawl collar styles in various lengths and colors. Labels at the neckline read "Made expressly for Bergdorf Goodman by EGERIA," "EGERIA International," or "The DREAM Robe made by EGERIA expressly for Neiman Marcus." The retailers are aware of four incidents where the bathrobes ignited when exposed to a flame, but no injuries resulted.
Consumers should immediately stop wearing these Egeria bathrobes and return them to any Neiman Marcus or Bergdorf Goodman store for a full refund. For more information, consumers can call Neiman Marcus at (800) 685-6695 or Bergdorf Goodman at (800) 218-4918. Consumers can also call the CPSC toll-free hotline at (800) 638-2772. This recall does not extend to other terry cloth bathrobes sold by these stores.
