Raleigh has received three reports of forks separating, resulting in facial and head injuries to riders. The affected bicycles are green 1996 Raleigh M55 models equipped with gray Ballistic LE300A suspension forks featuring black decals. These bicycles were sold nationwide by authorized Raleigh dealers from August 1995 through January 1997 for approximately $390. Most 1996 Raleigh M55 models are equipped with different SR DuoTrack 7006 suspension forks and are not part of this recall.

Consumers should immediately stop using Raleigh bicycles with Ballistic suspension forks. They should bring their bicycles to an authorized Raleigh dealer to receive a free replacement fork.
