Plain-English summary
Good Lad Co. of Philadelphia, PA, is voluntarily recalling approximately 360 toddler outfits in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recalled items are matching two-piece sets consisting of a solid-colored shirt and a striped skirt with suspenders, identified as Style #12417. The outfits were sold nationwide from March 1991 to April 1991 for approximately $19.00 per set. A tag sewn on the garment's neck seam reads "PETE'S PARTNER, A Good Lad Company, Made in Philippines."
The recall is being conducted because the decorative buttons on the outfits may detach, creating a fatal choking hazard for young children. Additionally, a decorative pin may detach, which could cause a puncture wound. The potentially hazardous clothing was identified during a joint surveillance program between the CPSC and the U.S. Customs Service at the Port of Philadelphia. Neither the CPSC nor the company is aware of any injuries involving this product.
Consumers are urged to discontinue use of these outfits immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a refund of the purchase price. Those with questions about the recall may contact Good Lad Co. at (215) 739-0200.
