Plain-English summary
Acme Premium Supply Corporation of St. Louis, Missouri, is voluntarily recalling 340,500 "Siren Whistle" toys in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall is necessary because the noisemaker within the whistle may separate from the toy, which could present a choking hazard to young children.
The recalled products are plastic, 1-3/4-inch tubular whistles available in solid colors of yellow, white, red, blue, orange, green, pink, and black. The word "TAIWAN" is embossed on the outside of the whistles. These toys were sold nationwide from January 1989 through March 1990, primarily at carnivals where they were given away as prizes or sold individually from concession stands for under 25 cents each.
Neither the CPSC nor the company is aware of any injuries involving this product. Consumers are urged to take these toys away from young children immediately. For a replacement, consumers may return their Siren Whistle(s) to Acme Premium Supply Corporation at 4100 Forest Park, St. Louis, MO 63108. Questions may be directed to the company at 1-800-325-7888, extension 438.
