The RegO Company is voluntarily recalling its Model 210 liquefied petroleum gas (LP-Gas) regulators in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall is due to a defect where an internal mechanical component may fail, causing the regulator to suddenly allow high-pressure LP-Gas to pass to appliances such as hot water heaters, furnaces, and outdoor grills.

This failure to control gas pressure within allowable levels can result in fire and explosion, leading to severe property damage, personal injury, or death. RegO has reported 14 incidents resulting in property damage, three of which also involved personal injury. The affected regulators may be found on various devices including recreational vehicles, mobile homes, travel trailers, and standard motor homes equipped with LP-Gas fueled appliances.

Consumers should examine their LP-Gas fueled devices to determine if they are using a RegO Model 210 regulator. If identified, consumers should close the shut-off valve of the LP-Gas supply container and contact a local LP-Gas dealer for immediate replacement. Consumers are cautioned not to remove or replace the regulator themselves and should not turn on the LP-Gas supply until the replacement is complete. The regulator will be replaced by a RegO Model 302V9P at no cost to the consumer.
