What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Plain-English summary
Ritchey Design is recalling about 775 Ritchey carbon fiber bicycle forks with a crown hole. The fork holds the front wheel in place and was sold individually and with certain Ritchey bicycle framesets. Recalled individual forks include the WCS Carbon Mountain Adventure Fork, WCS Carbon Brevet Road Fork, WCS Carbon Adventure Gravel Fork, and WCS Carbon Tapered Adventure Gravel Fork. Recalled framesets include the Montebello (Hot sauce color), Septimer (Black & White color), and Outback (Aurora and Winter Sage color). The Ritchey brand name is on the fork. All carbon bicycle forks with crown mounting holes are included in the recall.
The alloy insert located in the front crown hole of the carbon fork can come loose, causing an accessory to fall off and land on the bike's front wheel. This poses a risk of serious injury or death from a fall and crash. The firm has received one report of the alloy insert coming loose; no injuries have been reported.
The recalled forks were sold at Performance Bike, Adrenaline Bikes, Excel Sports Boulder, and other bicycle retailers nationwide and online, including ritcheylogic.com, from July 2024 through June 2026. They sold for between $660 and $700 for an individual fork and between $1,760 and $3,500 for bike frames with carbon bicycle forks.
Consumers should stop using bicycles equipped with the recalled fork immediately, inspect the front crown hole for any attached racks or accessories, and close the threaded hole located above the front wheel.
