Bazic Silicone Glue Recalled for Serious Child Poisoning Risk

Bazic Products is recalling Bazic Silicone Glue due to methanol poisoning risk. The packaging is not child-resistant as required by law, and the product is incorrectly labeled as non-toxic.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: Score 3 (High) applies because the source explicitly states no illnesses or injuries have been reported, making the hazard potential rather than realized. Per the rubric, when no illnesses/injuries are reported and the hazard is theoretical, the maximum score is 3. Although the product poses serious injury or death risk if misused by children and violates mandatory child-resistant packaging standards, no actual harm has occurred.

Plain-English summary

Bazic Products is recalling approximately 21,170 bottles of Bazic Silicone Glue, Model 2030. The product was sold nationwide from May 2025 through October 2025 at multiple retailers including Amazon.com and Walmart.com, as well as at Shims Bargain Inc., Henry Lamond Co. Ltd., Universal Wholesale, and D'notions & Crafts stores for approximately $3 per bottle. Only bottles bearing batch code V01233-031725-70004523 are included in the recall (UPC 764608020302).

The glue contains methanol, which federal law requires to be stored in child-resistant packaging under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. The recalled bottles lack this required child-resistant packaging, posing a serious risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children. Additionally, the product violates Federal Hazardous Substances Act labeling requirements: it is incorrectly labeled as 'Non-Toxic' despite containing methanol, and it lacks the required 'highly flammable' hazard warning statement.

No illnesses or injuries have been reported. Consumers should stop using the recalled product immediately and contact Bazic Products for refund instructions by calling 877-772-2942 (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT) or emailing [email protected]. The recalled glue must be disposed of according to local and state regulations through a hazardous waste treatment center. Do not dispose of methanol in sewers, rainwater pipes, or regular trash, as this can cause fires and environmental pollution.
