LVOE Hair Dryers Recalled for Electrocution and Shock Hazards

What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The recalled hair dryers present a risk-of-harm product hazard: they lack immersion protection and can cause death or serious injury due to electrocution if they fall into water while plugged in. Although no injuries have been reported, the documented defect and violation of federal regulations meet the criterion for High severity.
Plain-English summary
LVOE-brand hair dryers sold on AliExpress.com are being recalled due to a safety defect. The recalled hair dryers are negative ion models available in purple, pink, light gray, and gold, with multiple air settings, temperature control, and a diffuser. They come with three or four nozzles and have a label indicating "Product name: Hair Dryer" and "Product model: X13." Approximately 30 units were affected.
The hair dryers lack an immersion protection device required by federal regulations. If a plugged-in hair dryer falls into water—such as a bathtub, sink, or shower—it can cause death or serious injury due to electrocution or electric shock. This is a substantial product hazard.
The recalled hair dryers were sold on AliExpress.com between April 2023 and December 2024 for between $117 and $185. Consumers who purchased these dryers should immediately unplug and stop using them. Contact AliExpress through their online service to receive a full refund. The company will ask purchasers to destroy the hair dryer by cutting the cord and to send a photo of the destroyed product to [email protected] or reply to the recall email from AliExpress for verification.
