Plain-English summary

Ophanie large fluffy/shag area rugs in pink are being recalled due to violation of mandatory federal flammability regulations for carpets and rugs. The affected rugs were sold in two sizes: 5 feet x 8 feet and 6 feet x 9 feet, and were marketed as "Ultra Soft Fluffy Area Rugs" made of 100% polyester with high-density sponge backing and PVC anti-slip dots.

The recalled rugs were sold exclusively online through Amazon.com from April 2024 through June 2024 at prices between $42 and $65. Approximately 5,200 units were distributed. The manufacturer and importer is Ophanie, of China.

The firm has received one report of a fire. No injuries have been reported. Consumers should stop using the recalled rugs immediately. To obtain a full refund, consumers must destroy the product by cutting it in half and provide proof of destruction by sending a photo to [email protected]. Ophanie is contacting all known purchasers directly.
