Best Buy is recalling about 187,400 Insignia brand air fryers and air fryer ovens sold from November 2021 through November 2023 because the units can overheat, causing handles to melt, glass doors to shatter, and fires.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: This recall involves a risk-of-harm product (fire and burn hazards from overheating units) where actual incidents have been reported (24 reports of overheating/melting or glass shattering, including six confirmed fires), but no injuries or property damage have been reported. The combination of reported hazard incidents with the fire risk elevates this above Moderate under the rubric's High category for risk-of-harm products with reported incidents.
