Rollerblade Fury Inline Skates Recalled Due to Fall Hazard

Rollerblade USA is recalling about 13,400 Fury Inline Skates because the rear brake support can fracture or separate, reducing stability and increasing the risk of falls. No injuries have been reported to date.

What this means for you

Minor labeling or packaging issue, or a voluntary precautionary recall. Risk of harm is low but real — follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Our severity reasoning: The source explicitly states no injuries have been reported, and while the hazard is a mechanical defect that could lead to falls, it is a voluntary precautionary recall with no confirmed harm. This meets the Moderate criteria for low-risk situations without reported injury.

Plain-English summary

Rollerblade USA is recalling Rollerblade® Fury Black/White and Fury G Black/Pink youth inline skates sold in three adjustable sizes. The rear brake support on these skates can fracture or separate, which reduces user stability and increases the risk of a fall.

The recalled skates were sold nationwide and online through retailers including Inline Warehouse, Paragon Athletic Goods, REI, sporting goods stores, and online at Amazon, Dick's Sporting Goods, Inline Warehouse, and Rollerblade.com from May 2020 through March 2023 for approximately $150. A variant with gray, non-marking brake pads was sold directly to schools and rental facilities for indoor institutional use. The recall also includes the Rollerblade Fury brake support distributed as a service part.

Rollerblade has identified 11 reports of brake supports fracturing or breaking off the skates. No injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled skates and contact Rollerblade USA to receive a free replacement brake support. The company is also contacting known purchasers directly, including schools and rental facilities.

Consumers can contact Rollerblade USA toll-free at 866-734-5708 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, by email at [email protected], or online at https://www.rollerblade.com/usa/en/fury-recall or www.rollerblade.com and click on "Fury Product Recall" for more information.
