Rosso Motors Youth ATVs Recalled for Federal Safety Standard Violations
Rosso Motors is recalling approximately 2,800 eQuad X and eQuad Q youth ATVs sold online from June 2019 through April 2021 because they violate federal safety standards and pose a risk of serious injury or death.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The vehicles violate mandatory federal safety standards and pose a documented risk of serious injury or death; however, no illnesses or injuries have been reported. This meets the rubric criterion for High severity: risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported.
Plain-English summary
Rosso Motors, a Canadian manufacturer, is recalling approximately 2,800 eQuad X 800W and eQuad Q 1000W electric youth all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). The recalled vehicles were sold exclusively online at RossoMotors.com between June 2019 and April 2021 at prices between $650 and $925. The ATVs were available in blue, pink, army camo, red camo, and black colors.
The recalled ATVs do not meet mandatory federal safety standards in two ways. First, the youth ATVs exceed the maximum speed limitations for vehicles intended for children ages 6 and older, which poses a risk of high-speed crash. Second, for certain ATVs, the mechanical suspension fails to comply with federal safety standard requirements. No injuries or deaths have been reported.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ATVs and contact Rosso Motors to arrange a return for a refund. The refund amount depends on the purchase date and when the return is requested, ranging from 40% to 100% of the purchase price under a depreciation schedule provided by the manufacturer.
Consumers can contact Rosso Motors toll-free at 855-546-2453 (Monday–Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT), email [email protected], or visit RossoMotors.com and click on the RECALL link at the bottom of the page.
