The recall affects products with date codes beginning with 'A4' followed by a five-digit number less than 22249, manufactured between January 2021 and September 2022. Testing has identified bacterial contamination, specifically Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an environmental organism found in soil and water. Original Pine-Sol in Pine scent is not included in this recall.

People with healthy immune systems are typically unaffected by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. However, those with weakened immune systems or external medical devices face a risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment if exposed. The bacteria can enter the body through inhalation, the eyes, or through breaks in the skin. No illnesses have been reported so far.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and dispose of them in their original containers with household trash. Full refunds are available with receipt, or at the manufacturer's suggested retail price without a receipt.

Approximately 37 million recalled products were manufactured during the affected period. They were sold nationwide at major retailers including Amazon, Walmart, Sam's Club, Dollar General, Target, Home Depot, BJ's, Kroger, Dollar Tree, Lowe's, and Publix, among others, priced between $2.50 and $12.50.
