Richie House Children's Robes Recalled for Flammability Standard Violation
Richie House is recalling approximately 480 children's robes sold online at Walmart.com from March 2021 through March 2022 because they fail to meet federal flammability standards for children's sleepwear, posing a burn injury risk.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The robes violate federal flammability standards for children's sleepwear and pose a risk of burn injuries to children. Although no injuries or illnesses have been reported, the hazard involves a high-risk product category (children's sleepwear with burn risk), meeting the High threshold per the rubric.
Plain-English summary
Richie House, of Irvine, California, is recalling "A Memory In" branded pink children's robes because they fail to meet federal flammability standards for children's sleepwear. The robes were made of 100% polyester and sold in sizes 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14. They feature long sleeves, two front pockets, and two side seam belt loops with a matching belt.
The recalled robes were sold online exclusively at Walmart.com between March 2021 and March 2022 for between $22 and $28. The specific robes involved bear the fabric product unit number FPU NO. AM003 and garment production unit number GPU NO. AM003-1, printed on the side seam label. No injuries have been reported.
Consumers should immediately take the recalled robes away from children. To receive a full refund, consumers must cut the garments in half, send photos of the destroyed garment and the side seam label to Richie House, and then await the refund. Walmart and Richie House are contacting all known purchasers directly.
