Troy-Bilt SpaceSavr Lawn Mowers Recalled for Fire Hazard

MTD Products is recalling about 1,774 Troy-Bilt SpaceSavr walk-behind self-propelled lawn mowers because they can leak fuel when stored upright, posing a fire hazard. No injuries have been reported.

What this means for you

Minor labeling or packaging issue, or a voluntary precautionary recall. Risk of harm is low but real — follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Our severity reasoning: The source explicitly states no injuries or illnesses have been reported, and the hazard is theoretical (potential fire risk). This meets the criterion for a score of at most 2, qualifying as a moderate precautionary recall.

Plain-English summary

MTD Products Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio is recalling about 1,774 Troy-Bilt SpaceSavr walk-behind self-propelled lawn mowers (model TB220BXP SpaceSavr, model number 12AVU2V3B66).
