The recall is due to a potential fuel leak that can occur near the rear mounting screws on the bottom of the fuel tank, which poses a fire hazard. The affected mowers have serial numbers ranging from 1A101ZXXXXX to 1C091ZXXXXX, with dates of manufacture from January 2011 through March 2011. The serial number and date of manufacture are printed on a label located under the front of the driver's seat.
These mowers were sold at Cub Cadet dealers nationwide from February 2011 through March 2011 for between $3,600 and $7,000. Consumers should immediately stop using the mowers and store them outside. They should contact their local Cub Cadet dealer to schedule an appointment for a free repair.
