Ceiling Fans Recalled Due to Detaching Blades Impact Injury Risk

About 77,900 Harbor Breeze Belleisle Bay and Honeywell Rio ceiling fans are recalled because the blades can detach during use and strike consumers or cause property damage.

What this means for you

Minor labeling or packaging issue, or a voluntary precautionary recall. Risk of harm is low but real — follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Our severity reasoning: The source explicitly states no injuries have been reported, and the hazard is based on reports of blade detachment with only property damage documented (three reports of drywall damage). This is a precautionary recall without reported personal injury, meeting the Moderate (score 2) criterion.
