Specific lot numbers and expiration dates are printed on the underside of the bottles, including lots 06242008, 03262012, 06242007, and 06242021.

The recall is due to the product's failure to meet the child-resistant packaging requirements mandated by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). Because the packaging is not child-resistant, there is a risk of poisoning if young children swallow the iron-containing contents. No incidents or injuries have been reported to date.

The products were sold at health food stores nationwide and online at lifeseasons.com and Amazon.com from October 2020 through January 2021 for about $26. Consumers should immediately store the product in a safe location out of reach of children.
