Yamaha Motor Powered Products Co. is recalling approximately 10,100 2018 and 2019 Yamaha EF2000iS portable generators. The recall is due to a defect where the fuel tank can leak gasoline, which poses fire and burn hazards to users.

The affected generators are blue and feature Yamaha and the model name printed on the control panel. The serial numbers for the recalled units range from 4543288 through 4553706. The serial number is located on a label below the exhaust outlet on the left side of the generator. These units were sold exclusively at Yamaha Motorsports dealers nationwide from June 2018 through October 2019 for approximately $900.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled generators and contact a Yamaha Power Products dealer to schedule a free repair. Yamaha is also contacting all registered owners directly.
