H&M Hennes & Mauritz L.P. is recalling approximately 980 children's hooded bathrobes sold in the United States, with an additional 60 units sold in Canada. The affected products are 100% cotton and include two styles: a gray robe with a white and pink or white and blue lining (sizes 6 months to 3 years) and a white robe with an embroidered cat face and ears (sizes 6-12 months). These items were sold online at www.hm.com between October 2018 and March 2019 for between $25 and $30.
The recall is being issued because the bathrobes fail to meet the federal flammability standard for children's sleepwear. This non-compliance poses a risk of burn injuries to children. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports that no injuries have been associated with the use of these products.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bathrobes. H&M is contacting all purchasers directly to offer a full refund and a $20 gift card.
