Professional Tool Products LLC is recalling about 4,800 Matco Tools wireless chargers sold in the United States and about 200 in Canada. The recalled chargers are round, measure about 4 inches in diameter and ½ an inch in height, and feature "MATCO TOOLS" and the Matco logo on a black background. They were sold with a USB connector cable.
The recall is due to a burn hazard, as the chargers can overheat. Professional Tool Products has received six reports of the chargers overheating, including two reports of burns to consumers' fingers. The products were sold at Matco Tools mobile truck stores nationwide from November 2018 through January 2019 for about $25.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled chargers. They can return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund or Matco Tools store credit of equal value.
