These units were sold in black with gold or silver trim around the glass doors, and "Regency" is printed on the front, bottom left corner of the pedestals. The recall covers approximately 13,700 units sold in the United States, with an additional 11,300 sold in Canada and 10 in Mexico. The units were sold through fireplace distributors and stores nationwide from January 2001 through January 2018 for about $2,800.

The recall is due to a defect in the pressure release system, which can fail and cause the gas stove to explode, posing explosion and injury hazards. Regency has received three reports of the pressure system failing and one report of a door hinge breaking. One incident resulted in minor cuts to a consumer's legs.
