Plain-English summary

ALDI Inc. is recalling Ambiano mini deep fryers sold in brushed stainless steel and red colors. The recall involves approximately 35,000 units sold at ALDI stores nationwide from February 2018 through March 2018 for about $15. The recalled deep fryers feature a black lid, a metal food basket, and measure approximately 9.45 inches wide by 10.43 inches high by 8.23 inches deep. The units have "Ambiano" printed on the front, and specific barcode numbers (20072483 for stainless steel and 20072490 for red) are located on the silver rating label on the bottom of the unit.

The recall is being issued because the deep fryer heating element can overheat, which poses fire and burn hazards. The firm has received three reports of the deep fryers catching on fire, including three reports of minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.
