Hammerhead Off-Road Recalls Fun-Karts Due to Fuel Leak and Fire Hazards

Hammerhead Off-Road, of Flower Mound, Texas, is recalling about 9,900 model year 2009 through 2015 GL 150, GTS 150, and GTS Platinum fun-karts. The recalled fun-karts have two seats and a rear cargo rack and were sold in red, black, white, orange, blue, and green. The "GTS" is printed on the side cage and hood of GTS models, and "Hammerhead" is printed on the hood of GL models. Serial numbers are printed on the cross bar behind the seats.

The fuel tank on these fun-karts can crack and cause fuel to leak out, which poses a fire hazard. The company has not reported any injuries or incidents related to this defect.

The fun-karts were sold at Hammerhead Off-Road dealers nationwide from August 2009 through July 2016 for between $2,100 and $2,900.
