The recall is being issued because the diameter of the hole in the top hat is too small, which can allow heat to build up and create cracks in the surface, posing a fire hazard. The firm has received three reports of cracks in the holder, but there are no reports of fire.

About 1,000 units were sold in the United States, and an additional 13 were sold in Canada. The products were sold by Victorian Trading Company and Victorian Trading Company Wholesale, as well as online at www.victoriantradingco.com, from September 2014 to October 2015 for about $20. The products were manufactured in China.

Consumers should immediately stop using the tealight holder and contact the firm for instructions on returning the product for a full refund. The firm is contacting consumers directly.
