The scooters were sold in various colors and can be identified by the "POWERBOARD" marking on the left side of the board.

About 70,000 units were sold at mall kiosks operated by Hoverboard LLC at 35 locations nationwide, as well as online at Amazon.com and powerboard.com, from September 2015 through April 2016. The products were sold for between $350 and $1,000. The manufacturer is PSDI, of Orem, Utah, and the products were manufactured in China.

There have been 27 reports of the scooters overheating, sparking, and smoking, including one report of property damage. No injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled products. Because the firm is no longer in business, a remedy is no longer available.
