Krud Kutter Inc. of Cumming, Ga., is recalling approximately 85,000 units of Krud Kutter Decal & Adhesive Remover and Krud Kutter Ultra Power Specialty Adhesive Remover. The recall involves 8-ounce flip-top bottles and 16-ounce and 32-ounce spray bottles manufactured between October 2014 and July 2015. The products were sold at The Home Depot, other paint and hardware stores nationwide, and online at krudkutter.com between October 2014 and September 2015 for $5 to $20 each.

The recall was issued because the packaging does not meet child-resistant closure requirements under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. Additionally, the product labeling violates the Federal Hazardous Substances Act because it fails to warn of the hazards presented by the petroleum distillates contained in the adhesive removers, which pose aspiration and poisoning risks if swallowed. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled adhesive removers and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund.
