Vivint Recalls Remotec Dimming Switch Modules Due to Shock Hazard

Vivint, Inc. of Provo, Utah, is recalling about 213,000 Remotec plug-in dimming and on/off switch modules, model ZDS-100US. The modules were sold separately or in home automation alarm systems from April 2011 through October 2014 for about $50. The off-white modules plug into the wall and have electric outlets on both sides. Recalled modules have serial numbers with the first four digits ranging from 1115 through 1440.

The recall is due to a shock hazard caused by incorrectly installed module wiring. No injuries have been reported. The modules were manufactured in China and sold at authorized dealers nationwide and at www.vivint.com.
