Plain-English summary
Sleeping Partners International Inc. is recalling the Tadpoles Baby and Kids Moses Basket and Stand. The recall involves approximately 5,500 Moses baskets and 800 stands. The Moses basket is made from natural tan wild palm leaves, while the stand features a pine wood frame, fabric platform, and polyester rope design. The products were sold at Babies R Us, buybuy Baby, and various online retailers from April 2014 through July 2015.
The recall was issued because the Moses basket fails to meet the federal hand-held infant carrier standard and the stand fails to meet the bassinet/cradle standard. Specifically, the basket can slide off an inclined surface, and the stand can tip over, creating a fall hazard for infants. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
Consumers should immediately stop using the Moses baskets as a hand-held infant carrier. Those who purchased both items should stop using the stand and contact Sleeping Partners for instructions on returning the products to receive a store credit. Consumers can reach the company toll-free at (844) 489-9498 or visit their website for support.
