J.M. Mattress, of Chicago, Ill., is recalling about 240 renovated (rebuilt) Tight Top RB Sweet Dream mattresses. The recalled mattresses are sold in twin, full, queen, and king sizes. They are ivory colored and feature a white federal tag on the top side near the foot of the mattress. The tag reads: "Manufactured By: J.M. Mattress, 4536 W. Gladys Ave. Chicago IL 60624, Model: Tight Top RB Sweet Dreams, Protoype ID: TTQRBD Sweet Dreams."
The recall was issued because the mattresses fail to meet the mandatory federal open flame standard for mattresses, which poses a fire hazard. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
The affected mattresses were sold at independent mattress stores in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin from September 2014 through December 2014 for between $50 and $500. Consumers should immediately contact J.M. Mattress to arrange for the recalled mattresses to be picked up, recovered, and returned free of charge. J.M.
