The used mattresses were stripped to the springs and rebuilt by the manufacturer in various fabrics and colors. The recalled products fail to meet the mandatory federal open flame standard for mattresses, which poses a fire hazard to consumers. The recalled mattresses feature a yellow tag with the text "American Mattress Mfg. Co., 1899 Metropolitan Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30315." These products were sold at various retail locations in Alabama and Georgia, as well as one location in Mississippi, from December 2010 through September 2011 for between $30 and $200. No injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled products.
