American SportWorks Recalls Four-Wheel Off-Road Utility Vehicles Due to Throttle Defect

American SportWorks, of Roseland, La., is recalling about 3,500 four-wheel off-road utility vehicles. The recall covers six models: BullDog 300, ChuckWagon 300, and LandMaster 300 powered by Kohler 277cc engines, and LandMaster 400, TrailWagon 400, and ChuckWagon 400 powered by Honda 390cc engines. Affected vehicles have product identification numbers with the last six characters between A11746 and A13294 for the 300 series, or between A24835 and A26806 for the 400 series. These numbers are located on a sticker on the firewall above the accelerator and brake pedals.
The recall is being issued because the throttle can fail to return to idle, which may cause the rider to lose control and pose a risk of injury. No injuries have been reported in connection with this defect.
The affected vehicles were sold at Atwood Distributing, Rural King, The Home Depot, Tractor Supply Company, and other dealers from September 2014 through June 2015 for between $4,300 and $5,300. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact American SportWorks for a free repair.
