The ovens were sold in stainless steel, oiled bronze, black, and white, with model numbers beginning with JJW2, JJW3, JMW2, or JMW3 and serial numbers beginning with D or F.

The hazard exists because the extendable roller rack can unexpectedly disengage when fully extended, which poses a risk of burns to consumers. Whirlpool has received eight reports of incidents related to this defect, including one report of second-degree burn injuries to the arm and back.

Affected ovens were sold at Sears, Pacific Sales, and other stores nationwide, as well as by wholesalers like Ferguson Enterprises and homebuilders, from March 2012 through June 2015 for between $2,500 and $5,000. Consumers should immediately stop using the extendable roller rack and contact Whirlpool Corporation for a free in-home inspection and repair.
