The motorcycles feature a 110 cubic centimeter engine, a green fuel tank, shroud cover, and fenders, a black seat, and white side covers. The KLX110 models have an automatic clutch and a seat height of about 27 inches, while the KLX110L models have a manual clutch and a seat height of about 29 inches. These vehicles were sold nationwide through Kawasaki authorized dealers from July 2013 through March 2014 for approximately $2,300 to $2,500.

The recall is due to a hazard where the camshaft sprocket bolts can loosen and come off. This failure can cause the engine to lock and stop the vehicle, posing a crash hazard. No injuries have been reported in connection with this defect.
