The recall is due to a hazard where the plastic insulator inside the stainless steel probe is not heat resistant. During normal use, the insulator can melt and fall into food, posing an ingestion hazard. The company received 11 reports of the probes overheating and the plastic insulator melting, but no injuries were reported.
