Tray Vous Recalls Stroller Snack Trays Due to Strangulation Hazard

Tray Vous is recalling snack and activity trays for strollers because the design poses a strangulation hazard to unharnessed children.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product (strangulation hazard) where injury has not yet been reported, which corresponds to a High severity score per the rubric.

Plain-English summary

Tray Vous LLC is recalling Tray Vous snack and activity trays with connectors. The recall involves three-piece units consisting of a black plastic tray with a cup holder and left and right plastic connectors used to attach the tray to a stroller base. The products were manufactured in China and Taiwan.

The recall is due to a strangulation hazard. The opening between the recalled tray and the stroller seat bottom allows an unharnessed child's body to pass through, but the space could trap a child's head. No injuries have been reported.

About 770 units were sold in the United States and 90 in Canada. The trays were sold at Dainty Baby in Brooklyn, N.Y., other juvenile product stores nationwide, and online at daintybaby.com, mystroller.com, pacifier.com, and trayvous.com from May 2011 through June 2012 for about $50. Consumers should immediately remove the recalled trays and connectors from strollers and contact Tray Vous to receive a free replacement tray and connectors.
