Plain-English summary

JPC Equestrian Inc. is recalling about 1,200 units of HDR pre-stretched stirrup leathers. The recall involves five specific models of stirrup leathers branded with the HDR logo and the name "HENRI DE RIVEL." The affected products were manufactured by Ducks N Drakes in India and sold at various equestrian supply retailers nationwide, including Choice Brands/Horse Loverz, Dover Saddlery, and The Equestrian Corner, from October 2013 to May 2014. The leathers were sold for between $30 and $40.

The recall was initiated because the stirrup leathers can crack and break, which poses a fall hazard to the rider. JPC Equestrian has received three reports of broken stirrup leathers, but no injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled stirrup leathers.
