Popkiller is recalling mini USB car charger power adapters, universal USB power adapters, and 8-pin USB data sync charging cables. The recall involves approximately 2,500 units sold at Popkiller retail locations in Los Angeles and Costa Mesa, California, from June 2013 through April 2014. The products were sold for approximately $4.50 to $6.50 and are available in red, orange, green, blue, purple, and pink.
The recall is due to improperly mounted plug blades and inadequate electronic circuitry, which create a fire and electrical shock hazard to consumers. The CPSC has not reported any injuries associated with these products.
Consumers should immediately stop using the phone accessories. They can return the product to the store where it was sold or send it to Popkiller Headquarters for a full merchandise credit.
