Crate and Barrel is recalling approximately 19,000 Finley Collection hanging pendant lamps sold in the United States and 860 in Canada. The recall involves lamps with white or wheat linen shades in large, small drum, or rectangular styles. These lamps were sold at Crate and Barrel stores, via catalog, and online from January 2009 through July 2013 for between $149 and $249. The lamps were manufactured by Iberian Lighting Enterprises Corp. in China.

The recall is due to a defect where the wires' polarity labels can fall off or be mislabeled. This can cause the lamp's wires to be connected incorrectly, posing fire and shock hazards to consumers. Crate and Barrel has received four reports of lamps shorting out, which resulted in minor property damage and a minor burn.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled lamps. They can contact Crate and Barrel for a replacement lamp of equal value or a full refund. The refund includes shipping and a $100 reimbursement for charges incurred in removing and replacing the lamps by a licensed electrician. The SKU number can be found on a white label inside the ceiling plate.
