The dehumidifiers can overheat, smoke, and catch fire, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. The firms have received reports of 325 incidents, including 71 fires and $2,725,000 in property damage.
Consumers should immediately turn off and unplug the dehumidifiers and contact Gree to receive a refund. The brand name and pint capacity are printed on the front of the unit, while the model number and date code are printed on a sticker on the back, front, or side.
