If ingested, the balls can expand inside a child's body, leading to intestinal obstructions, severe discomfort, vomiting, and dehydration. The toys do not appear on x-rays and require surgery for removal. While no injuries have been reported for this specific product, the CPSC is aware of one incident involving a similar product where an 8-month-old girl required surgery to remove an ingested ball.
The toys were sold at specialty retailers, education centers, and online at Amazon.com, BeAmazingToys.com, and WorldMarket.com from September 2010 through November 2012 for about $3 per package. Consumers should immediately take the recalled toys away from children and contact Be Amazing! Toys for a refund.
