Home Depot is recalling about 107,000 Soleil portable fan heaters, model number LH-707, due to a fire hazard. The plastic housing on these fans can melt, deform, and catch fire during use. The recalled fans are white, circular table fans measuring about 8 inches in diameter by 8½ inches tall. They feature a thermostat control on the bottom left front and a power and fan speed control on the bottom right front. The model number is printed on a sticker on the underside of the fan.
The heaters were sold at Home Depot stores nationwide from September 2012 through May 2013 for about $15. Home Depot has received 464 reports of the fans melting, but no injuries or property damage have been reported.
