The pedals are sold in sets of two and attach to cycling shoes. The pedal body is black and made of lightweight carbon injected thermoplastic, while the axle is made of chromium molybdenum steel. The pedals were sold through Performance's website, catalogs, and retail stores from February 2011 through October 2011 for about $100. Performance has received three reports of the pedals breaking, but no injuries have been reported.
