The products were sold online at Windflame.com and other online retailers from January 2010 to August 2011 for between $8.50 and $22.
The recall is being issued because the pourable gel fuel can ignite unexpectedly and splatter onto people and nearby objects when poured into a firepot that is still burning. This hazard can occur if the consumer does not see the flame or is unaware that the firepot is still ignited. The splattering gel fuel poses fire and burn risks that can be fatal. Fuel Barons has received one report of an incident where a man sustained second-degree burns to his hand and wrist.
Consumers should immediately stop using the pourable gel fuel in firepots. They should discard the pourable gel fuel and bottles in accordance with local and/or state environmental regulations.
