Plain-English summary
Tike Tech Ltd. is recalling about 800 Single City X3 and X3 Sport jogging strollers. The recall involves the optional grab bar on these strollers, which creates a gap between the bar and the seat bottom. This opening can allow an infant's body to pass through and become entrapped at the neck by the grab bar, posing a strangulation hazard to young children when a child is not harnessed.
The recalled strollers were sold at juvenile product stores nationwide and on websites including Amazon.com from October 2009 through February 2010 for about $300. The manufacturer is Tike Tech Ltd., of Toronto, Ontario, and the products were manufactured in China. The ID codes included in this recall are TT-18-01 through TT-18-07, located on the interior left side frame. "Tike Tech" is printed on the footrest and on the back of the stroller on the left and right sides.
No injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately remove the grab bar from the stroller and contact Tike Tech to receive a free replacement grab bar. For additional information, consumers can contact Tike Tech at (800) 296-4602 between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, email [email protected], or visit www.tiketech.com.
